Through the deregulation of the Greek electricity market, electricity trading companies were given the opportunity to import and provide eligible customers in the country.
In 2002, COPELOUZOS GROUP in cooperation with NEK EAD, the Bulgarian state electricity company, founded NECO S.A., a Greek electricity trading company which has evolved into one of the major suppliers of the market.
The Group, having acquired all the necessary licenses and rights, is active in all of our borders and supplies with electricity both the Hellenic System and the Public Power Corporation (PPC), while many industrial customers are among its clients. Furthermore, with the recent full liberalization of the electricity market, the Group has the opportunity to supply the whole range of eligible customers, industrial and residential, for the time being through NECO’s trading activities and in the near future through power provided by the private power plants the Group is constructing.
Moreover, the Group is expanding its trading and supplying activities in the greater Balkan region, taking advantage of the existing infrastructure (interconnections etc.) and the related Group’s capabilities.
The company’s long-term goal is the construction of new power plants in the neighboring country as well as in the greater Balkan region and its development into a leader in the Greek electricity distribution market.
